Libraries and Statistics

This post is for those of you who are curious about numbers related to public and academic libraries. On October 25, 2012, Wolfram/Alpha published an entry on their blog  about two major sources to help librarian and others compute statistics related to libraries. The first is the Institute of Museum and Library Services’ Public Libraries in the United States Survey and data on academic libraries from the National Center for Education Statistics.
